Winter might be here, but Brownstone Park has a few great events scheduled in February and March that will quench your thirst for a different kind of adventure!
Rock & Ice Festival - Something totally new for 2012! Brownstone Park's 2012 Rock & Ice Festival gives you the opportunity to rock climb on ICE, enjoy our dry zip lines and get some ice skating in as well.
Brownstone Park will be open Feb. 18 - 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. We're making our own ice walls for rock climbing, but keep in mind this special festival goes on with or without ice!

Ice Fishing Derby on Feb. 25 & 26
For the first time since 1938, ice-fishers will be able to drill into the ice at Brownstone Park and compete for the biggest catch in the First Annual Ice Fishing Derby on Feb 25 & 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Sponsored by Connecticut Outfitters ice fishing instructions and demonstrations on equipment and technology will be held both days. Use their gear or bring your own.
Keep in mind ... although we are hoping for ice, the Ice Fishing Derby will become a Fishing Derby - with all the events and prizes - if we don't have ice on the quarry.
Free fishing gear will be available courtesy Connecticut Outfitters, and the 2012 Ice Fishing Derby has $1,500 of cash and prizes available for this inaugural event!

Unfortunately this entire event had to be cancelled. The park will be closed for the duration of the winter season. We hope to see you at our Spring Polar Plunge benefitting the Hartford Children's Medical Center on March 17th.
