The April 18th poetry series will have open mic segments (5 minutes) for everyone that would like to share their work&nbsp;as well as 15-minute slots for the featured poets of the month. This month features&nbsp;Jefferson Singer, Susan Powers, and Diane Ayer.
Admission is free for everyone and you are welcome to Bring Your Own Beverages &amp; Food to the venue!&nbsp;

An Evening with Spiritual Medium Maura Geist
Taking place on April 19th, Friday at 7:30pm. Doors open at 7:00pm.
Venue: The Packing&nbsp;House, 156 river rd, Willington
Tickets available through the "more info" link. $20 advance online or $25 dollars at the door. You are welcome to BYOB &amp; Food to the venue&nbsp;(Wine &amp; Beer Only - I.D. Required).&nbsp;You can also bring your paid ticket to Willington Pizza House for eat-in or take-out the night of the show and receive 15% off your meal purchase.
Maura will lead a discussion on&nbsp; when and how this unique ability began, what a Medium is and her understanding of the Afterlife. She will also give an overview of how a reading is done, methods used in the process and what she will need from the audience. Maura will then make connections for the audience members and bring loving and healing messages from loved ones that have crossed over.&nbsp;There will be a brief intermission ending with a Q &amp; A.
This program is hosted by the "Eastern Connecticut Center for History, Art, and Performance" (EC-CHAP).

Nina is a CT singer, songwriter and guitarist who loves working with and performing for people of all ages. She performs original and standard tunes with her own take on old-timey jazz, country blues, folk and rockabilly. Shows are great fun and filled with connection, humor, meaning and conscience. Nina will performing from 7:30 to 8:30 and will be joined by Monique Hill and the talented, Cece Borjeson, who will accompany on percussion.
Horizon Blue was one of the first acoustic bands to perform at The Packing House in 2017. Not only are these folks accomplished musicians, they are outstanding human beings with big hearts. Horizon Blue captures the essence of California folk/country music. Their music is a harmonic eclectic blend with lush, acoustic arrangements. Horizon Blue’s sound features a variety of unique instruments including: lap steel guitar, resophonic guitar, mountain dulcimer, banjo, McNally “Strum Stick” and handcrafted Connecticut made Ovation guitars. Horizon Blue features the songs of award winning, international singer/songwriter Monique Hill. The songs are heartfelt, melodic, thoughtful, sincere and tell stories of everyday life. Monique’s voice is described by fans as the voice of an angel, sparkling and pure as a bird in flight. This band makes a lasting impression.

Looking for riders to help train with or even join our team!
Asking for help like this is never easy. But I remind myself that what I am actually doing is asking you to be part of a team that is helping thousands of people to say good morning that never would have been alive 10 years ago with out the research done at the Dana Faber Institute. The Pan Mass Challenge is the largest fund raising event of its kind to the DFI. In 2023 the goal was set at $66 Million dollars, thanks to donors like you, we were able to present DFI a check for $78M. I am asking you to help again this year by donating whatever you can afford ($10 to what ever you feel is relevant to the cause).
This is a two day bicycling event that starts in Sturbridge Mass on Saturday 8/3 and went 110 miles to Bourne. On Sunday we got up and rode the remaining distance to Provincetown (89 miles). Where we did a bit of celebrating before being bussed back to Sturbridge to end the event. The window for donations will remain open until September 30th. So please keep me in mind if you can.
 I consider myself fortunate to be able to be part of this team and am comfortable asking you to join in (I will do all the pedaling)! Although cancer does not run in my family, I have been a victim of this disease by losing my closest friend in 2002 and it seems like dozens of others over the years. But on the bright side I know MANY who have benefited from the research and are living proof that the work we are supporting is making great strides.
