Introducing TJ Clynch

TJ’s entrepreneurial career began with a life-changing event: in 2010, while walking in West Hartford, he was run over by an out-of-control Toyota Tundra. Long story short, after losing his job and his savings, he had to start over. Because his yoga practice proved to be the most effective part of his rehabilitation, he founded Downtown Yoga with the intention of creating a yoga studio that was “more accessible, approachable, and affordable.”
Not long after opening the yoga studio, he also founded a second venture, Civic Mind, which is a marketing design firm specializing in community development projects. Most recently, Civic Mind was the creative force behind the successful Hartford HodgePodge, an open market and street fair that takes over Pratt Street for six consecutive Sundays during the Fall.
TJ is the winner of the 2011Hartford Innovation Challenge. In 2012, he was also named as one of Hartford Business Journal’s “40 under Forty.”
He is a strong believer in designing a career that you love, the power of collaboration to make change and thinking big.
