Megan Krementowski of Tolland and Victoria Siracusa of Hebron dance in The Hartt Community Division's Ballet Production of Peter Pan

“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it,” said J.M. Barrie, author of Peter Pan. The story of Peter Pan has intrigued and beguiled children and adults alike for more than a century.

On June 13, 14 and 15, The Hartt School Community Division (HCD) at the University of Hartford performed the world premiere of Peter Pan, a ballet featuring newly written music by Louisiana-based composer Kermit Poling and original choreography by artistic director Samantha Dunster.

The production, commissioned by the Hartt Community Division – with support from Robert and Francine Goldfarb and Deborah and Tim Schwartz – was fully staged and performed with a live orchestra. 

Megan Krementowski of Tolland danced the role of Queen Fairy and Victoria Siracusa of Hebron danced the role of Tiger Lilly in the production, which involved 150 dancers from Hartt’s pre-professional, foundation, and children’s ballet programs.
