Northeast Ice Dogs Invites Kids to Participate in Try Hockey for Free Day on November 2nd at UCONN

Northeast Youth Hockey Association (NEYHA) invites boys and girls ages four to nine years old to to UCONN’s Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum on Saturday, November 2nd (2:00-3:15pm) for a Try Hockey for Free clinic to experience ice hockey for the first time and learn the basics of the sport in a fun, safe environment.

Try Hockey For Free Day is part of Come Play Hockey Month. This program, designed to provide youth hockey associations a national platform to introduce new kids to the sport, is a joint‐effort between USA Hockey, the National Hockey League, and NHL member clubs. With Total Hockey and Liberty Mutual Responsible Sports, the official sponsors of Try Hockey For Free Day, USA Hockey has 500 locations offering kids this unique opportunity.

"This is a great time to see your kids take their second 1st steps as they step out onto the ice.  We look forward to introducing new families to our sport,” said Aaron Krueger, President of NEYHA.  There will be plenty of prizes supplied by USA Hockey and the IceDogs.  Special guests include EOSmith/Tolland High School Hockey Team Members, current Ice Dog coaches and players, and many others.  Skates will be available; however helmets of some sort will be required and gloves are recommended.  Helmets can be bike, skate board or ski helmets as an example.  We will also have some other hockey equipment & sticks to borrow for the afternoon.  Please arrive early for fittings.

To register please visit www.TryHockeyForFree.com or contact NEYHA at IceDogsQuestions@gmail.com with any questions.  To find out more about the Ice Dogs, visit northeastyouthhockey.com.
