Make Plans to Come to Tolland's Memorial Day Parade

The town will hold its largest community gathering - the 23rd Annual Memorial Day Parade and Service - on Sunday, May 25 at 1 p.m.

The 2014 theme is "Always Remembered - Never Forgotten." Residents, sports leagues, civic groups, churches and businesses are invited to march in or enter floats in the parade. The parade will line up in the parking lot next to the Preschool of the Arts on Route 74 at noon and will step off at 1 p.m.
The parade will travel along Route 74, past the historic Tolland Green and will end at Tolland Intermediate School. A memorial ceremony will follow in the field in front of the school.
Before and during the parade, the town's Permanent Celebration Committee will be collecting donations to help the veterans at the Rocky Hill Veterans' Hospital. Donations can be sent to the Permanent Celebration Committee, 21 Tolland Green, Tolland 06084.
The rear of town hall will be open May 25 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. so parade participants and visitors can view the Veterans Wall of Honor, which lists Tolland residents who have served during combat. The wall was created by and is maintained by Tolland's Veterans Recognition Commission.
