300th Committee, Historical Society, Looking for Historic Photos

Historic Photo Day is on tap for Saturday, Oct. 5.

The Tolland 300th Anniversary Committee and the Tolland Historical Society are looking for historic photos featuring Tolland scenes that residents want to share.

The groups are joining forces to conduct a Tolland Historic Photo Day on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tolland Public Library.

Anyone with old photos from town events and scenes is invited to come to the event, where the photos will be scanned and catalogued and immediately returned. If possible, anyone sharing photos should come with the date the photo was taken, where it was taken and the names of the people pictured.

To avoid delays, please bring the photos loose, rather than in albums or frames, organizers said.

The photos will be used for 300th anniversary and Historical Society publications, exhibits and Web sites as both groups get ready for the milestone celebration in 2015.
