A Clean Sweep, Local Band Plays Webster Underground, Boys Basketball's Last Bid

Break out your industrial-strength umbrellas: heavy wind and rain is in the forecast for today. Rain is expected to be heavy in the afternoon, and we might see wind gusts of more than 50 mph. The good news is that the temperature will be on the milder side during the day, with a predicted high of 46º. But keep your blankets on the ready because tonight’s low might drop to as low as 18º.

What’s Going On Today:

At the senior center, men and women can enjoy a few games of  starting at 9:30 a.m. and continuing until 11:30 a.m.

There will be a  at the Tolland Public Library this afternoon. Students in grades 6 and up are invited to help straighten and clean up the library, and earn an hour of volunteer time in the process. Stop by from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This past Monday, a  on the Tolland High School basketball team. The team plays a big game tonight at in Enfield. The junior varsity takes the court at 5:30 p.m., while varsity claims center stage at 7 p.m. If the team wins, it qualifies for the state tournament—go Eagles!

Taking This Oasis, which includes members from Tolland High School, are performing at the Webster Underground  on 31 Webster St. in Hartford. Tickets are $10, and doors open at 6 p.m. TTO will also be taking orders for band t-shirts.

What's Up Ahead Today On Patch

There was a strong turnout from the community at the at the Fire Training Center. For those who missed the conversation, Tolland Patch will present some of the highlights later in the day.

We will also have a Q&A with Tolland Animal Control Officer Tina M. Binheimer, to find out what her job really entails—it’s not just getting to spend time with adorable animals like with a loving family very soon.
