A Moment in Tolland History: Crandall Cider Mill and Dam

Town Historian Barbara Cook provides information on the old cider mill that was located at Crandall Park.

Pictured is the old Crandall cider mill and the stone dam on the site of the present dam at . Originally a saw mill, grist mill and cider mill occupied this site, and the cider mill still operated in the 1940s. Opened for swimming by Miss Lillie Crandall, the property was acquired by the town in 1965, with the old mill used for bathhouses until it burned down.
