Colonial Gardens Up and Running

"I survived the winter of 2011!" ~ Linda Smyth, owner of Colonial Gardens.

We all are trying to forget the winter we just had, and that is so true for Linda Smyth the owner of Colonial Gardens on Hartford Turnpike.

For the moment, Smyth is just so grateful to be open for business.

For those who didn't see the pictures, Smyth's business was heavily damaged under the weight of the heavy winter snow.

Linda and her dog Sam opened in 1997 and have been a favorite place for Tolland residents to purchase their gardening flowers, trees, schrubs, ornaments and garden flags.

Linda said she had "no idea how fond people were of her establishment until this winter."

"The outpouring of help from friends, neighbors and businesses has been amazing. People will come and hand me their business cards and offer asistance at no charge," she said recently.

Smyth added that she is "so thankful for all her customers kindness and support."

No sooner had the words escaped her lips did members of the Tolland Garden Club come to offer assistance in unloading trucks and get the new and improved Colonial Gardens on its feet.
