The pavilion should be completed in about three to five weeks.

The reconstruction of the is underway and should be completed in about three to five weeks, according to Recreation Department Director Tom Ainsworth.

Ainsworth said that the site’s concrete slab was laid last week. A visit to Crandall Park this morning showed that construction of the actual building is already bustling along.

“It’s basically the same design, but it is a stronger version, with better materials,” he said. “There’s going to be a higher snow load.”

The town’s insurance company has hired Sigfridson Wood Products, based in Brooklyn, CT, to handle the reconstruction, according to Ainsworth.

Although the construction of the actual pavilion will most likely be finished in September, Ainsworth said that there will be an additional week of work to replace pavers and stones that were removed from the site for the heavy work.

But soon enough, Tolland will have its pavilion back, in a new and improved form.
