Good News Friday: Anniversary Sponsors and Ice Cream!

This edition of Good News Friday brings you details about a great announcement about the town's 300th Anniversary Celebration and where to get ice cream after Opening Day on Saturday.

For months now, members of the town 300th Anniversary Celebration Committee have been plugging away at the planning and organization of dozens of events to recognize the town's longevity.

Now, they have some good news of their own to share: First Niagara Bank has signed on as a major sponsor of the events!

Earlier this week, the committee announced, "through the leadership of Branch Manager Paula Wilson, First Niagara has pledged $5,000 toward the celebration and will be designated as a “Settlers Rock”-level sponsor."

Why is this good news? The committee is organizing dozens of events to celebrate the town's tercentennial anniversary, from galas to parades to smaller events, and needs some financial assistance from residents and businesses to make sure things go off without a hitch.

It's Opening Day of Tolland Little League on Saturday! That in an of itself is good news, but what makes it even sweeter? Ice Cream!

American Creamery is offering a discount on every cone for its players if they remember to wear their team jersey to the store. Yum!

It's finally open! Sweet Frog Tolland is finally open!

It actually opened slightly more than one week ago, but it was a soft opening. We just wanted to let you know, just in case you hadn't been there yet.
