Scenes From "Snacks with Santa" at Crandall Lodge

A holly, jolly good time had by all at Junior Women's Club event

It's difficult to come up with a surefire blueprint for success when planning a brand-new event, but it seems that the Tolland Junior Women’s Club has a new, annual “hit” on their hands with their “Snack with Santa” extravaganza.

Held at the rustic and festive Crandall Lodge, which featured a cozy fire and huge Christmas tree, the December 10th event drew a packed house of smiling families. For a mere $5 entry fee, children received a “passport” to fun and received a sticker at each activity station so they wouldn't miss a single thing. There were lots of crafts, a story time area in front of the fire with Mrs. Claus, yummy winter snacks and, best of all, photos with Santa Claus. Outside the activity area, a craft show took place, featuring Christmas ornaments and other goodies.

Budget? Check. Logistics? Check. Publicity? Check. It seems the Junior Women’s Club did their homework when planning “Snack with Santa,” as this will surely become a tradition in Tolland for many years to come.
