What to do in Tolland This Weekend: April 26 - 28

There are several items to choose from, but here's a peak at just a few things going on in and around Tolland this weekend.

1. The Tolland Senior Center will host its 24th Annual Variety Show on tonight (Friday, April 26) at 7 p.m. at the Tolland High School Auditorium. In the past, this show has been great family-friendly entertainment. Get your tickets at the senior center ($7 for adults or $5 for those younger than 18 years) or they can be purchased at the door. 2. Boy Scout Venture Crew 422 is hosting a residential electronics recycling collection event on Saturday, April 27, at Tolland High School from 9 a.m. to noon. 3. Saturday, April 27, is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. Residents are encouraged to bring unused and expired prescription and over-the-counter medications (including pet medications) to the Tolland Resident Trooper's Office for the safe disposal of these items. 4. Saturday is Opening Day for Tolland Little League's spring Baseball and Softball leagues. Ceremonies will begin at 10:30 a.m. at The Tolland High School Football Field. For more information please go to Tollandlittleleague.org.

5. Horizon Wings in Ashford is hosting an Earth Day Fair on Saturday, April 27, starting at 10 a.m. The fair will feature tours the aviaries with 13 species of raptors, live birds of prey programs at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and a special story-telling starring Oscar, our Great Horned Owl, at 1 p.m. Lots of other programs are scheduled, too.
