What to do in Tolland This Weekend: May 10 - 12

So much to do this weekend: prom pictures, grand re-openings, fishing without a license, and those are just a few.

1. Friday was prom night for Tolland High School students and Mother Nature totally knew it! It was a near perfect day and evening, great for photos on the town Green.

2. You might have already been in to check out the new decor, but on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. the Tolland Dunkin' Donuts on Merrow Road his hosting a grand re-opening celebration. Head on over and check it out.

3. The Tolland Farmers' Market returned to the town Green last weekend. If you missed it, no worries, there are plenty more opportunities this summer, including Saturday. Find more details on the town of Tolland website.

4. The annual Episcopal Church Women flower sale will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon at St. John's Church on Hartford Turnpike in Vernon. Do you have your Mother's Day flowers yet?

5. Don't have a license, but you want to go fishing. No problem! Read this from the state Department of Energy & Environmental Protection:

"The Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) has designated Saturday, May 11th 2013, as a “Free Fishing Day” in Connecticut where no fishing license will be required. Anyone, residents and non-residents, can fish any fresh or marine public waters without having to have a fishing license."

Read about the specifics on the state DEEP webpage.
