Zumba, Teddy Bear Picnic & Town Council Meets

Today in Tolland: Zumba Fitness at Star Hill, low-impact exercise and cards at senior center and town council meets. Enjoy a teddy bear picnic at Hartford's CT Historical Society Museum. Head to Spare Time for Bowling for Special Needs Program.

Want to start your morning with a little dance and a lot of exercise? Get your hips moving, your heart pumping and step out of your comfort zone with a class at Star Hill Family Athletic Center. Non-members are welcome to join the class, 9 a.m.-10 a.m., for $8.

Or you can gently glide into the day at the senior center, with a stretch and balance, low-impact  class at 9 a.m.

There will be no Tuesday Preschool story time today at the Tolland Public Library today. But you can bring your kids to the Connecticut Historical Society Museum in Hartford for a . From 10 to 11 a.m., children are invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal or doll for an indoor picnic and craft. The event is free with museum admission, which is $6 for adults, $3 for youth (6-17), students and adults over the age of 65, and free for children 5 and under. The Museum is at 1 Elizabeth St in Hartford.

Let's have a show of hands if you're an ace at cards? You can prove it, or at least have fun trying, this afternoon at the senior center. begin at 1 p.m.

Birch Grove sponsors its program at Spare Time at 350 Talcottville Rd in Vernon. Five dollars includes two games and shoes. The fun goes 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

Tonight the in the council chambers at Hicks Municipal Center at 7:30 p.m. On the agenda will be a discussion on legislative matters with state legislators and representatives from the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM). There will also be a consideration of an application for a state matching grant for Elderly and Disabled Demand Responsive Transportation.
