Hunger Games Book Discussion Series for Teens

Hunger Games Book Discussion Series for Teens at Tolland Public Library

This February and March, Tolland Public Library is offering a new book discussion series for teens on Suzanne Collin’s Hunger Games trilogy. Set in the not-too-distant future in a land that used to be North America, the three books follow Katniss Everdeen as she tries to balance survival and leadership in the brutal Hunger Games, a tourney style battle to the death, where only one contestant can win. Readers are invited to 3 discussions, one on each book, to be held on:

February 9th – The Hunger Games Time: 6 – 7 PM
March 8th – Catching Fire Time: 6 – 7 PM
March 22nd – Mockingjay Time: 6 – 7 PM
The discussion series will end on Saturday, March 24th, with a Trivia Blast at 1 PM.

These programs are free and open to interested young adult readers; sign-up is requested. Participants may sign up for one or more sessions, including the Trivia Blast on March 24th; books are available at the library desk. As an added incentive, students who attend any of the programs will be eligible to enter a drawing for 4 gift certificates for tickets to the Hunger Games movie. (The drawing will be held at the March 24th session).

This series is brought to the library by the Connecticut Humanities Council and is sponsored by the Tolland Public Library Foundation as part of the Year Of the Young Adult at Tolland Public Library.
