Harsh winter weather made it unsafe for Santa, his sleigh and his brightly-lighted fire truck escort to finish their route over Tolland's roads on Friday evening, December 10, and caused the cancellation of the route planned for Sunday evening, December 12. Santa and his friends from the Tolland Fire Department have therefore added two additional weekday evenings to this year's schedule in the hope that no one will miss seeing the Jolly Old Elf. The new dates that Santa will be out and about are:
- Thursday, Dec. 16, from 6:00pm until 8:30pm - Cestwood Rd - Hilltop Rd area; Carriage Dr - Robin Circle area; Burbank Rd; Peter Green Rd south of Burbank Rd; Doyle Rd - Lakeview Heights - Birch Hill Drive area; High Ridge Dr area; Crystal Springs area; Rolling Meadow Dr; Willow Creek Drive - Charlotte Drive area.
- Monday, Dec. 20, from 6:00pm until 8:30pm - Crystal Lake Rd south of the Ellington town line; Webber Rd; Browns Bridge - Grahaber Rd- Bonair Hill Rd area; Eaton Rd - Willie Circle area; Hurlbut Rd -Stonehedge Dr area; Cervens Rd; Shenipsit Lake Rd (south portion); Tolland Stage Rd from Leonards Corner to the Vernon town line.

Santa and his sleigh will be at the Fire Training Center, 191 Merrow Road, on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at 5:00pm. Parents are encouraged to bring a camera to photograph their young ones as they meet Santa and receive a surprise present.
