Bites Nearby: Corey's Catsup & Mustard

Corey's in Manchester specializes in unique burger offerings.

Burger bars are becoming quite popular, and Manchester has a formidable, tasty offering in.

Located at 623 Main St. in the heart of downtown Manchester and opened in 2008, Corey’s (named for , who owns and operates two other restaurants in Manchester) is owned by five young locals, including Wry, and specializes in unique burgers and brews. Everything about the place screams local, from the friendly neighborhood vibe and servers and bartenders who get to know their customers, to Corey’s commitment to using the freshest local ingredients.

As its name might imply, Corey’s menu leans heavily on a plethora of creative burger offerings, such as the “The Jersey Burger,” a spicy sausage patty topped with ham, roasted peppers, provolone, broccoli rabe and roasted garlic mayo on ciabatta bread, or “The Man Burger,” a pastrami, fried egg, double bacon, horseradish cheddar and barbecue sauce on a hardroll creation. The menu includes plenty of other options to choose from as well, such as appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches and low-calorie and children’s menus.

The kitchen stays open until 10 p.m., and there is a late night menu that extends the hours some nights. The bar area generally closes at 1 a.m.  Corey’s also hosts live music and karaoke. The schedule for those events can be found on the restaurant’s Web site.

A tip if you go: burgers don’t come with fries, but you can order a “basket” topped with a number of different options, including Cajun spices, cool ranch and sea salt and vinegar. Just remember that the baskets of fries are big enough for at least two people, as are most of Corey’s burgers. Definitely bring your appetite if you go.
