Tolland Business Plaza Gets a New Look

The plaza housing Papa T's, Village Spirit Shop, Electric Blue and Napa Auto Parts has a new half-stone facade.

The exterior of the plaza that's home to Papa T's, Village Spirit Shop and other businesses has undergone a redesign, featuring a stone facade complemented with clapboards.

"We wanted a new look. It was getting a little old," explained Alex Vargas, the Director of Operations at the plaza. The property, located at 62-68 Merrow Road, is owned by KD Gateway, LLC.

Vargas said that he has been receiving positive feedback on the new facade from tenants and residents. He said that Tolland's Design Advisory Board gave input to the new design. Originally, the entire exterior was going to be stone, Vargas said, but the board suggested breaking up the material with the clapboards.

The stone facade is also meant to provide continuity between the Electric Blue and the other businesses sharing the building, according to the DAB meeting minutes. The Electric Blue installed the stone facade around five years ago, Vargas said.

The plaza is subject to Tolland Village Area zoning regulations.
