Tolland's Pumpkin Season Begins Friday

Mike's Farm Stand and Autumn Oak Farms will open for the autumn season on this weekend.

Fall has officially arrived in Tolland, and it's just about time to decorate doorsteps with some festive pumpkins.

Fortunately, Mike's Farm Stand, located on Route 195, will reopen on Friday, Oct. 5 for pumpkin season, while Autumn Oak Farms on Buff Cap Road will hold its season grand opening this weekend.

Mike's Farm Stand owner Matt Hill said that the stand will likely be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The stand will be selling gourds, pumpkins and apples, but the business is not offering "pick your own" pumpkins for customers.

Mike's Farm Stand closed temporarily this summer due to staffing shortages. Residents can call 860 429-4563 for more information.

Autumn Oak will be selling pumpkins, gourds and cornstalks, beginning on Saturday, as well as canned goods, honey, vegetables and eggs, according to owner Michael Grogan.
