Walmart to Hire 80 More Employees in Expanding Manchester Store

A news release issued Tuesday by Walmart:

Walmart will hire approximately 80 additional associates to work at the expanding Walmart slated to re-open this fall in Manchester. A temporary hiring kiosk has opened inside the store at 420 Buckland Hills Drive.

Applications will be accepted seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Interested applicants may also apply online

Through Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months.* Interested veterans may find out more online.

According to store manager Ray Mercado, the store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates. “I’m excited to expand the Manchester Walmart to provide the community with greater shopping convenience and new jobs,” said Mercado.

Walmart provides a benefits program to eligible full- and part-time associates. For example, it provides a variety of affordable health and well-being benefits including health-care coverage with no lifetime maximum.

Walmart also offers eligible associates matching 401(k) contributions of up to 6 percent of pay, discounts on general merchandise, an Associate Stock Purchase Program and company-paid life insurance. Additionally, eligible associates receive a quarterly incentive based on store performance.

The majority of new associates will begin work in June to help prepare the store for its grand opening.
