Shays: Fiscally Conservative Ryan a Great Pick

Former Congressman Christopher Shays, Republican candidate for United States Senate, applauds Governor Romney's pick of Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate.

Stratford - Today Christopher Shays, Republican candidate for United States Senate, released a statement applauding Governor Romney's pick of Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate.

"Governor Romney could not have made a better choice for his running mate than his decision to name my friend and former colleague, Congressman Paul Ryan.

Paul will be a Vice President all America can be proud of.

Congressman Paul Ryan and I served together on the House Budget Committee for many years. Together we fought to cut wasteful government spending, to balance the federal budget, and help set the stage for years of economic growth.

Governor Romney said his choice of Congressman Paul Ryan is, 'another step forward to restore the promise of America', and I couldn’t agree more.

My sincerest congratulations to Paul Ryan, a man who has spent the past 14 years serving in Congress. He is an experienced leader, trying to restore fiscal sanity to Washington."

Ryan's Budget "fiscally conservative?" Ryan's budget never proposed actually REDUCING TOTAL spending! All Ryan's budget proposed was continuing the INCREASE in spending under Obama a little less than the Democrats originally wanted! Under each plan here is what the debt will be by 2021; Obama = 26.3 TRILLION Ryan = 23.1 TRILLION Either way, we bust. Here it is on a graphic; http://www.ezimages.net/upload/5MIN/HeresYourVastDif.gif Other Things Paul Ryan Voted for; Iraq War, NDAA (lock you up/tap your phones w/out Bill of Rights protections), Medicare Part D, Libya funding Ryan's voted for all of the following; Making Permanent the Patriot Act/surveillance w/out warrant. TARP National Id card GM bailout Chrysler bailout Medicare expansion NCLB 2008 stimulus 2009 stimulus Housing Subsidies Unemployment extensions No Child Left Behind Keeping Troops in Iraq Against medical marijuana Budget Spending more than Ron Paul's or Gary Johnson's proposed budgets. If you want to continue the good work of Obama and Bush, Romney and Ryan are just what you need.

Wow, there's a real shocker from Shays. Grasping at straws before the vote I guess...Had he come out and spoken the truth about Ryan, I might have even voted for him. As it is now, that's three strikes pal. Yeah I think it's absolutely astonishing that so many people will cast their vote for the "lesser of two evils" this year. If they had a heart, soul, backbone, or any respect for our nation's history, they would stop voting for the "lesser of two evils" and start voting for the best candidate. How can anyone support a candidate who supports any of the above as Ryan has? Totally nuts...

I wish i could be deluded that maintaining the fiscally liberal programs of Socialist Security Medicare/Medicaid is "fiscally conservative"; but i can't. I can only hope that one of the candidates secretly hopes to eliminate the funk of the New Deal and Great Society, close my eyes and vote for the lesser of two weevils.

Welcome to the new Republican party, nothing else matters except satisfying the rights unusual obsession with this president. Doesn't matter who they put in, what they stand for or their record... as long as its a warm body... Thats pretty sad...
