Donate Used Cell Phones at Tolland Resident Trooper Office

The used phones and chargers will be given to a domestic violence shelter in Enfield.

Tolland residents with old cell phones around the house can donate them to a great cause.

The Tolland Resident State Trooper's Office is collecting used cell phones and chargers to donate to a domestic violence shelter in Enfield.

Resident Trooper Tim Merrill, who organized the drive, said that the phones can be a lifeline for those who use the shelter.

"A lot of the time, they don't have any resources," he said. "The phones will help them maintain contact."

Residents can drop off the phones and chargers at the Tolland Resident Trooper Office located at 749 Tolland Stage Road behind the Old Tolland County Jail and Museum.

There will be a box in the lobby of the building, which is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Phones can be dropped off whenever a trooper is in the building.
