Five Tolland Well Systems on Boil Advisory Notice

The Connecticut Department of Public Health has released boil advisories for five town well systems.

The Connecticut Department of Public Health has issued boil advisory notices for the following Tolland well systems:

  • Baxter Farms Community Water Association
  • Woodland Summit Community Water Association
  • Stone Pond Condiminiums
  • Village at Crystal Springs
  • Ivy Woods

Residents on these well systems, and those on private wells who are concerned about their water's safety, can get safe drinking water at the Fire Training Center on Route 195 or Tolland High School.

According to the EHHD Web site, water can also be sanitized by bringing it to a rolling boil for one minute, adding 8 drops of liquid chlorine bleach per gallon of clear water or 16 drops per gallon for cloudy water (make sure it has no perfume or ingredients other than sodium hypochlorite) or through water purification tablets.
