Gearing Up for the Third Annual Celebrate Tolland

This year's celebration will take place on Saturday, September 15.

The third annual Celebrate Tolland is just around the corner, and the town is preparing for the big event.

This year's festivities will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at , according to Recreation Director Tom Ainsworth.

The usual activities will be available, including , a and .

But there are a few changes, as well! An inflatable slide and bounce house, an obstacle course and a basketball game competition will keep everyone moving.

Ainsworth said that residents will also be able to sign up for a "color me" mile fun run, a fundraiser for Adam's Adventure, in which runners, dressed all in light colors, have colored powder thrown at them while they run to become living works of art by the end of the race. There will be a fee associated with that particular activity, Ainsworth added, but more details will be available closer to the event.

This year, the crafter tents will move up to Tolland Green during the celebration. Ainsworth said that anyone seeking more information on the crafter tents should contact .

Residents will also be able to enjoy a tree planting ceremony at town hall, since the large tree in front of the building will be removed in the near future, due to damage. Participants can watch the tree being replaced and head back down to the high school to enjoy the rest of the activities.

Ainsworth said that music will be provided by , as well as high school coffeehouse performers. The Lion's Club, and Monet's Table will be selling refreshments, and many local businesses and non-profits will have booths set up.
