Good News Friday: Free Coffee, Sweet Frog and Musical Success

There are lots of good things that happen in and around Tolland everyday. Each Friday we highlight just some of those events and wins to make sure that credit is given where credit is due.

OK, who doesn't like free coffee? It's free coffee, people! Whether you're a decaf drinker or someone who goes for the high-test version, a free cup of decent coffee is always a treat.

So, to lead off today's Good News Friday column we offer you this tip: free coffee today at the new Between Rounds coffee and bakery on Merrow Road.

That's right, owner Sami Khan wants to treat current and future customers to a cup of Joe on him. Why not stop by and check out the renovated space and grab a cup to stay or to go.

If premium frozen yogurt is more your thing, there is some great news coming out of a renovated store front pretty close to Between Rounds. Sweet Frog Tolland is opening soon and the new business is hiring. Check out its Facebook page for more details.

So, that's free coffee. Check. A job opportunity at a new ice cream place in town. Check.

Why not include some great news about some Tolland High School students?

Twenty THS musicians recently performed at the CMEA Eastern Region Music Festival at UConn. From there, several of them performed at the Connecticut All-State Music Festival on Feb. 3 at North Haven High School and six made it into the All-State Festival, which is scheduled for April 4 at the Connecticut Convention Center.
