As the town recovered from Hurricane Sandy's power outages and storm damage, ghouls, goblins and much more got in the Halloween spirit as trick-or-treaters gathered in the Big Y parking lot for the second incarnation of "trunk-or-treat."
The event was pulled together on the Tolland Patch Facebook page as families debated whether it would be safe to trick-or-treat with wires potentially dangling on a number of streets.
A quick call to the Big Y management team confirmed that the store was ready to host an impromptu Halloween celebration.
