Still Not Warming Up To This Cold Weather?

One way to keep our mind off the cold is to keep busy with these worthwhile events in or around town.

Still not warming up to this wave of cold weather? If you're an early riser, get the blood flowing and the temperature rising with an early morning workout at Star Hill Family Athletic Center. Their  is 5:30 a.m.-6:30 a.m.

Toddlers are invited to  at the cozy library this morning, 10:15 a.m.-11 a.m. The free program is open to everyone, including children and caregivers from out of town.

It's  at the senior center. Seniors are welcome to bring in a project at 11 a.m. Or they can help out by making centerpieces for the monthly birthday celebrations for members.  After grabbing a meal at the , residents are also welcome to drop by at  1p.m. to .

This evening is TEPTO (Tolland Elementary PTO) Benefit Night at TGI Fridays in Manchester. When you present the attached flyer with your order, 20 percent of the sales will be given to TEPTO, which supports the elementary schools in town. So consider going out for a warm appetizer or meal between the hours of 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. 

And if you are looking to embrace what increasingly feels like the beginning of winter, go support Tolland High's ice hockey team tonight.  Varsity boys' hockey, a co-op team with E. O. Smith and Windham, will be playing a "home" game at 7:30. They'll be facing off against the Hall-Southington Team at the Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum, on the UConn Storrs campus, at 509 Stadium Road.
