UPDATE: The Heart of the Matter, Positive Parenting, Town Council Meets

Dance your way to health this morning with . Star Hill Family Athletic Center holds the fun, fitness program with international flavor from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Seniors can enjoy at the Tolland Senior Center today at 9 a.m. Later, residents are welcome to sit in on a hand or two of at 1 p.m.

It’s that day again for at the Tolland Public Library. Children ages 2 to 5 and their parents or caregivers are invited to stop by to listen to Mrs. B read aloud stories from 10:15 a.m.-11 a.m.

Looking to get to the true heart of Valentine’s Day? At in Manchester, children ages 6-10 are invited to explore the heart of the human body in the class. They will discover what hearts really look like and learn how they work. Kids can make unique Valentine projects to take home. The class takes places 4-5 p.m. and costs $15 for non-members.

Birch Grove sponsors its weekly today. The fun takes place 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Spare Time, 350 Talcottville Rd. in Vernon. Five dollars includes two games and a pair of shoes.

Tonight is part of a three-class session of the at Birch Grove Primary School. Parents can discuss behavior challenges and learn effective methods of communication and discipline to positively change challenging behavior in a child. Today’s free class is in the Media Center, 6pm-8pm. Call to register.

At tonight’s , agenda items include: consideration of revising the date for discontinuing the second installment on motor vehicle tax payments due to the current state of the economy, discussion of repair funding options for  and a request of unused FY 2009-2010 carryover funds for the Board of Education to offset debt costs associated with additional borrowing for the high school.
