Tolland EOC to Close Today; Non-Potable Water Available Through Weekend.

Here is the latest update from the town's Emergency Operation Center:

The Town would like to inform residents that the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) closed at 4 p.m.

The Declaration of Emergency made by Town Manager Steven R. Werbner has been canceled.

All showering facilities and food/water distribution stations have been closed.

Spoiled food can continue to be deposited in a dumpster at the Highway Garage, 118 Old Post Rd.:

  • Today from 6 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
  • Saturday from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m.

Storm related brush can be taken to 287 Baxter St. adjacent to Valley View Cemetery:

  • Today and Saturday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
  • Sunday 8 a.m. to noon

Storm related debris is limited to organic material such as tree limbs and branches. No bulky waste will be accepted.

All residents are encouraged to report ANY property damage to 860-871-3690 or 860-871-3677. Damage to homes, garages, cars, decks, pools, sheds etc. should be reported so that we may compile a listing for FEMA reporting purposes. Photos of damage can be emailed to sgallo@tolland.org along with your name, address and a description of the damage.

Power may fluctuate as residences in neighboring towns have power restored. Please be patient as the electric crews are restoring service.

All residents should be aware that there are still low wires and loose/hanging limbs that may pose a hazard. Residents are warned that they should use caution and stay away from any low or downed wires. Our crews have a record of all limb/wire reports that have been made to date and it has been forwarded to CL&P, they will be following up with those as soon as possible. Please do not place another report unless imminent danger is present. The CL&P reporting number is 800-286-2000.

Non-potable water for toilet flushing only will continue to be made available at the Fire Training Center, 191 Merrow Rd. throughout the weekend for those who may still be in need. 

North River Road remains closed to through traffic.

Those residents that live in neighborhoods with community wells are encouraged to contact their representatives for updates on their water. Those residents on the CT Water system can call CT Water at 800-286-5700.
