Ashford Metric Century+ Bike Ride

Tolland, CT, September 13, 2013 – Nerac Earth, a nonprofit cycling club located in Tolland, CT., is pleased to invite everyone to come out and participate in the sixth annual Ashford Metric Century+, a fund-raising bicycle ride event to be held on Sunday, September 29th, 2013.  The 10, 25, 62 and 100 mile routes travel through the “quiet corner” of northeastern Connecticut and surrounding areas in Massachusetts for the longer rides. The back country roads, stunning fall foliage and cool weather conditions make this a classic New England bicycle ride.

All routes are fully supported and there are multiple rest stops stocked with food, drinks and water.  In addition, all pre-registered riders will receive a 2013 Ashford Metric Century+ t-shirt and after the ride, we will be serving baked potatoes with all the fixings and homemade apple crisp with ice cream. There will be free massage offered by CT Center for Massage Therapy to get you rolling again -- You don’t want to miss it!!  Details follow:

Location: The ride starts at the Ashford Elementary School on Route 89 in Ashford

This classic New England bicycle ride is a fund-raiser which benefits the Nerac Earth Cycling Club and the Ashford Recreation Dept, an organization dedicated to improving community youth programs, area bicycling paths and recreation opportunities, and community give-backs (free programs) such as a summer concert series, holiday carol sing, ice skating, family day and Halloween party.

Nerac Earth Cycling Club actively supports the sport of bicycle riding in the community; we lead rides for cyclists of all ages and skill levels, participate in trail work to improve the trails in our area, share our biking knowledge and skills with new cyclists, and recruit new cyclists into the sport.  We have over 75 active members and support many charity rides across Connecticut by participating as a club.

This is a USA Cycling permitted event. Helmets must be worn and approved by the CPSC or US DOT standards.
