The Coast Guard Auxiliary has teamed up with the folks at
Goodwin College to offer the “How to Read a Nautical Chart” course. This
exciting 3 1/2-hour course will provide the student with the knowledge to
interpret a nautical chart’s contents to navigate safely to their destination
and return to port. Text and training chart included. Recommended for all boaters,
this course will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013. 12:30 p.m. – 4:00
p.m. at the Goodwin College, Main Campus, (Room 410) Riverside Drive,
East Hartford, Connecticut. This course is taught by the boating experts of the
U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, South Windsor, Conn. Tuition is $30.00 for faculty,
students and staff of Goodwin College and $40.00 for the general public.
Pre-registration is required.
Also offered is “Suddenly in Command” boating
course. This 4-hour boating safety primer is designed for those not
generally at the helm, and will help you to “be prepared” with the basics in
case of an emergency. Recommended for all boaters, this course will be held on
Saturday, November 23, 2013. 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at the Goodwin
College, Main Campus, (Room 410) Riverside Drive, East Hartford, Connecticut. This
course is taught by the boating experts of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary,
South Windsor, Conn. Tuition is $15.00 for faculty, students and staff of
