Let's face it the holidays are not always joyful for everyone The seasons of our lives just do not lend well to being sure nothing impacts what is "supposed to be" a time of joy. Losses happen. Loved ones die. Jobs are lost. Troubles come and the "Fa, la, la" of the carols gets caught in our throats. The smell of fresh baked cookies brings tears to our eyes, we can't bear the thought of a tree, and we hope the tree top angel will just stay in her box and keep quiet. God knows and understands. That is why the Blue Christmas Service was created - to honor those who mourn and to assure you that Jesus comes especially for you. So be brave, come out on this starry night, into the quiet candlelite of this service and just be where you are. Listen to comforting prayers, reassuring music and be surrounded by others who join you there, in the dark, searching for the light.
