Tolland Residents - Register to Win a Barnes & Noble Nook E-Reader at the Library

Tolland residents aged 12 and over can stop by the Tolland Public Library between now and Oct. 31 to enter to win a Barnes & Noble Nook e-reader. One entry is being accepted per town resident.

The “Take a Look, Win a Nook” drawing is being sponsored by the Tolland Public Library Foundation to encourage residents to get reacquainted with a town treasure – their public library.  Even as the book industry is changing rapidly, the library remains a hub of free information and technology for town residents.

The library allows Tolland cardholders to check out one of several Nooks that come with free material already downloaded such as “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” by Stieg Larsson.

Ancestry.com, the world’s most popular online genealogy resource, can be accessed by patrons at the library.  ConsumerReports.org;  NoveList Plus, a database of novels,  and Credo Plus Unlimited, a database of reference books, can be accessed by patrons from home using their library card, or from the library. All of these databases are made possible through grants from the Foundation.

The Foundation was established in 1996 to receive donations to benefit the Tolland Public Library and to enhance library services beyond what the town budget provides. It has recently purchased an early literacy computer station for children and sponsors the Eaton-Dimock-King Authors Series.
