Help a Group of Local Students Stop Illegal Poaching

A group of UConn students is passionate about conservation and is raising funds through GoFundMe.

A group of UConn students that is passionate about conservation is raising money for the cause via the GoFundMe Web site.

According to the page on GoFundMe, proactive measures need to be taken to prevent rhinos from being wiped out completely. All donations to this page will go directly to The Rhino Revolution, a non-profit, civilian based anti-poaching group out of Hoedspruit, South Africa.

The page states, "In 2013 alone, there have been 790 documented poaching cases of rhinoceros in South Africa. If this continues, we may see the complete extinction of the species within our lifetime. 2013 has already seen the extinction of the western subspecies of Black Rhino because of illegal poaching for the rhino horn. Help us help the Rhino Revolution put an end to this horrific practice. We refuse to be the generation that sees the demise of this magnificent species due to human greed and corruption."

So far, $735 has been raised. To donate to the cause, visit the GoFundMe page.
