Tolland to Remember Janice Pockett with Ceremony

Pockett, who was seven at the time of her disappearance, has been missing for four decades.

Area residents are invited to a dedication ceremony Friday, July 26 to remember Tolland's Janice Pockett on the 40th anniversary of her disappearance.

The ceremony will be held at Cross Farms Recreation Complex on Rhodes Road at 7 p.m., according to a news release.

The Tolland 300th Anniversary Committee is set to dedicate a bench in Pockett's honor at that time.

The ceremony will feature remarks from Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman; Lt. Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police; Richard Field, Vice Chairman of the Town Council and M. William Phelps, host of "Dark Minds" on the Discovery Channel, according to the release.
