Celebrate Tolland: Color Me Art and Apple Bake Off Details

Celebrate Tolland is scheduled for Saturday, September 15.

The town's is almost here! The Recreation Department has released more information about two of the great events happening on September 15. The releases are also attached above.

Color Me Art Fun Run

The proceeds from this event will benefit , an organization raising money to build a handicap-accessible playground at .

Participants in the mile-long run should wear light colored clothing so they can become true pieces of art after running through the course. Non-toxic cornstarch and food coloring will be used to "decorate" the runners.

It costs $5 to participate if residents register by September 12 and $7 after that date. Children under 5 can run for free.

Sunglasses or eyewear protection is encouraged.

The run will start at 2:15 p.m. at the high school. Call the Recreation Department at 860-871-3610 for more information.

The Great Apple Bake-Off

The baking contest, sponsored by Kollas Orchard, continues this year! Participants can compete in either the pie or desserts category, but all entries must have apples as the primary ingredient.

Participants must submit their entries by 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on September 15 with an attached entry form, which is posted above.
