Tolland Fire Department Making its Annual Holiday Tour

Santa will be accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys, which will be distributed to those in need.

The Tolland Fire Department's brightly lighted and decorated fire truck will be making the rounds throughout town on December evenings.

Along with a special sleigh.

During the tour, Santa will be accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys, which will be distributed to those in need, fire officials said. There is a particular need for the pre-teen and teen age groups.

Gift cards and new, unwrapped toys can be given to Santa as he tours the neighborhoods or they can be dropped off weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Fire Station 140, located at 64 Crystal Lake Rd.; Fire Station 240 located at 3 Rhodes Rd. or the Fire Department Training Center, located at 191 Merrow Rd.

The tour schedule and hours could be changed because of circumstances like weather, emergency calls and truck maintenance, fire officials said. Delays, cancelations and changes will be posted on the TFD Web site and its Facebook page, fire officials said.

The Web site is:

If time allows, some canceled dates will be rescheduled, fire officials said.
Residents can check the tour schedule for specific streets by logging on to the department’s Web site.

On Sunday, Dec. 22nd, the decorated fire truck, along with Santa and his sleigh will be on view at the Fire Training Center from 4 to 7 p.m. Parents are welcome to take pictures of their children with Santa in the sleigh and light refreshments will be provided.

Tollandfire.org will also be offering a Santa tracker on the big night.
