Twisted Hope

Running in St Thomas, Spirit of Spring/Fun Run

It has been a few weeks and I have been reluctant to share the most recent developments. Two weeks ago, while playing soccer at Star Hill, I rolled my ankle. The swelling and pain were minor but this has obviously affected my training. I was up to a mile run at a sub 7 minute pace. Since this unfortunate injury, I have worked back up to a half mile jog without pain. It is now clear to me that I still plan to run in the race. Today, I will be running in St Thomas. I am hoping my ankles are ready for the hills. If you have ever been to the USVI you know what I mean. Some of the the driveways here are steeper than 45 degrees.

So far there are 90 people registered to run in the 5k Spirit of Spring race and 24 registered to complete the Fun Run. This is a great turnout and we are hoping to have even more people join us.

If you are interested in participating, here is the website to sign up

See you at the race!

Run, Jeff, run! I can relate - recently completed my 1st 5k with a healing sprained ankle on 1 foot and a heel spur on the other! You can do it!

Bummer; hope you're feeling better. Watch out for those kid toys; they can be dangerous too. :o)
