Tolland Junior All-Stars Win District Title
The Tolland Juniors beat Ellington 6-3 Monday night, becoming District 8 Champions.
The Tolland Junior All-Stars beat Ellington at Monday night's game, finishing top in District 8. The team remains undefeated, with a record of 8-0.
Thomas Slane pitched the first four innings, and singles from Matt Curtis, Nick Paasch, and Slane drove in three runs early in the game to get the Tolland boys ahead. Slane and Vinny Farrell followed up with doubles to bring their lead to 5 in the second inning.
Tolland's defense was solid, with strong closing pitching from Eric Gottier and two astounding double plays in the third and sixth innings. Sean Kelly hit a single in the seventh, bringing in another run for Tolland. Center fielder Nick Paasch sprinted to the fence to make a tough winning catch. The final score was 6-3.

Having won the District 8 Championship title, the Juniors will move on to sectionals. Their next game will be Thursday night in Burlington.
