Tolland Juniors Take on Putnam

Putnam earned the win in Thursday night's game. The final score was 3-2.

The Tolland Junior All-Stars faced Putnam Thursday night in Burlington, CT, in their first sectionals game since winning the district title.

Tolland seemed well-matched against the Putam team; despite tight defense and solid hitting, they were unable to pull in a ninth straight win.  The final score was Tolland 2, Putnam 3.

Corey Domingos, Vinny Farrell, and Andrew Clokey were among the boys who singled early in the game, but strong fielding from both teams kept the score at zero across the board.

By the end of the inning, Putnam had tied the game.

Tolland came back in the sixth inning with a hit from Sean Kelly to send Dan Steiner home, but the Putnam team rallied in the bottom of the inning to pull in two runs.  The game ended in the top of the seventh in Putnam's favor.

Tolland pitchers Nick Paasch and Eric Gottier headed the team's defense, keeping the score close.  The team supported each other and remained confident and alert for a spirited and exciting game.

The Juniors will be playing a second game in Burlington tomorrow.
