Video Series - Hiking In Tolland, CT. The Tobiassen Memorial Forest

Second in my video series about hiking trails throughout Tolland and neighboring towns. The 16 minute video is about the Tobiassen Memorial Forest, and even has a brief clip of horse back riding.

This week I made my way to Noah Lane, to the Tobiassen Forest trail.  It is located off of Grant Hill Rd. near the Coventry line.  The trail is approximately 1 mile long and goes through some hilly, rocky terrain with a brook through the middle of it.  The Tobiassen property was donated to the town of Tolland a number of years ago.  It was at one time a working farm.  Since the original donation, Tolland was able to acquire more acreage through the Joshua Trust and increase the trail size.  You can also access the trail from Wiegold Rd. but in order to get back to where you start you need to retrace your steps.  Both trails can be considered easy to moderate.

The video is approximately 16 minutes long and can be viewed on You Tube. There is a treat near the end of the video as I stood next to a cracked old black birch tree.  Much to my delight a few trail riders came through on horses.  What a wonderful way to end the video.  Hope you enjoy the video, and encourages you to take a nice fall walk on our many trails throughout town.   Next trail I plan on walking will be the Shenipsit Trail near the Rockville line which passes Shenipsit Lake.  Here is the link to the Tobiassen Forest.

It's society's fault.

Another regional high school had a tailgate breakfast this morning and it went with out anyRead More problems. (without approval from admins.) Kids are not the problem here. Seems like administrators are the ones looking for problems.

It's society's fault that they trashed the school. That's intelligent!

Stay positive, learn and grow always. And always, always be open to, and pray for, new perspectives.Read More You are obviously engaged, bright and motivated. Always stay that way, but realize you will see many, many things in your life that aren't fair. I have travelled a lot, and been off the beaten track in Peru and many other poor countries. And I myself grew up on welfare. There are so many wonderful things that we have in Tolland and in America. So many, many opportunities and blessings. Never feel persecuted or you will be the one who loses. This has developed into a discussion about life. In a nutshell, what occurred at the school was not right.
