We've had a busy summer of window coverings so I haven't blogged in a while. It's a good problem to have. We are thankful for the many nice customers we've met over the summer.
It is very rewarding for my husband and I to come into a home, help a customer solve window covering challenges and also improve their surroundings. Take for example the beautiful lake front home we visited that has trapezoid windows in the cathedral area. We added vertical blinds that could be operated from below so the customer can enjoy the afternoons by the lake without the sun making the room too warm.
We have many ideas for the Fall, one of my favorite seasons. A solar shade can stop the glare and at the same time enable a view out - as pictured in this three season porch. See also the photo of a homeowner's bow window, where she wanted the light to come in during the day and have privacy at night. A shading system takes it one step further, with two sheers encapsulating soft horizontal slats. When closed the slats add privacy. See the photo of the shading system that was used throughout this customer's modern home.
Finally woven wood blinds come in roman shades and sliding panels. They add texture and warmth to a room, as pictured in a new homeowner's kitchen. There are many and varied woven materials to chose from. This product also comes with a tandem shade: a room darkening back shade for the evening and the woven shade alone during the day.
