Good News Friday: Museums, TV Spots and Juried Art Shows

This edition of Good News Friday brings you details about opening weekend at the Arts of Tolland and the Old Tolland County Jail and Court House Museums television guest appearance.

When the doors open for the juried art show on Sunday at the Arts of Tolland, it will signify more than the beginning of the season. The group is celebrating its 40th anniversary year!

According to its website, the "Arts of Tolland was founded in 1973 to supplement fine arts programming in the local school system." Until this day, the mission is to "provide a spectrum of artistic and cultural experiences for people of all ages, races, and ethnic and cultural backgrounds."

One way the group works to fulfill its mission is by hosting a variety of events specifically designed to highlight local artists, from concerts to student art shows.

This weekend, the group is hosting its 10th Annual Juried Art Show beginning.

An opening reception is scheduled for Sunday, April 7, from 1 to 4 p.m., an awards ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Exhibit hours are scheduled for every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday in April from 1 to 4 p.m. Stop by to check it out, and remember to wish them a happy anniversary!
