Tree Lighting and Festival of Lights Parade Planned for Nov. 30

The town’s Permanent Celebration Committee and the Tolland Fire Department are joining forces this year to make the annual Holiday Tree Lighting on the green a bigger and better event for Tolland residents.
The committee will hold the tree lighting on Saturday, Nov. 30 – one week earlier than usual – to pair it with the Tolland Fire Department’s “Tolland Festival of Lights Parade.”
The tree lighting will begin at 4 p.m. on the green, with special guests arriving from the North Pole to help light the tree and talk to Tolland children about their holiday wishes. Refreshments will be served, and non-perishable food items and donations will be collected for the Tolland Food Pantry.
At 5:05 p.m., festively decorated fire trucks and floats from Tolland and surrounding towns will parade from Tolland Senior Center to the Tolland Recreation Department at the old Parker Memorial School on Old Post Road to the to the delight of people of all ages.
For more information about the tree lighting, contact committee President Celeste Senechal at tollandpcc@gmail.com or 860-543-4687.
