United Congregational Church of Tolland Harvest Fair

Join us at the United Congregation Church of Tolland for our annual Harvest Fair on Friday, November 22ndfrom 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM and on Saturday, November 23rd from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM.  The Knit and Pray group will be sponsoring this event and they have been busy assembling many unique items that will be available for sale on those days.  Many of these items have been handcrafted including wooden candle holders, quilted crib blankets, Christmas table runners, scarves, hats, mittens, children’s sweaters, baby blankets, woolen socks and much more.  New to the fair this year is ALL THAT GLITTERS which are gently used bracelets, necklaces, pendants and earrings.  There will also be beautifully quilted tote bags and custom designed note cards available.  To save you time during the holiday season, stop by the bake sale on your way out where you will be able to purchase homemade pies, breads, jams, pickles andother delectable sweets.

The Knit and Pray group of UCC Tolland is part of an international movement of people making prayer shawls to give to those in need, such as someone who is ill or grieving, or in celebration of special events such as weddings and birthdays.  The idea of knitting prayer shawls originated with two women from West Hartford, CT.  These prayer shawls are knitted in groups of 3 stitches.  The number 3 has come to symbolize many things in the life of the church: the Trinity, phases of life (child/adult/senior), acts of existence (birth/life/death), and many other things. The group meets once a month on Saturday morningsat the church for two hours to knit, pray and socialize. If you are interested in joining this knitting group, please call the church office for more information at(860) 875-4160.  You do not need to be a member of the church in order to be a part of the group.

We look forward to welcoming you at the fair.  The church is handicapped accessible. For more information regarding the fair, please call (860) 875-4675 or visit www.ucctolland.org.
