Antiques Trailer Stolen in Tolland

Anyone with information is asked to contact Troop C.

Connecticut State Police are looking for the person(s) involved in the theft of a trailer from Tolland filled with as much as $50,000 worth of antiques.

The 20-foot box trailer was taken from Industrial Park West in Tolland at around 10:15 Friday morning, according to police.

The trailer is described as black in color with the words “Capitol Salvage” written on it in gray lettering. It contained the following, according to a police report:

  • 1883 blue creamery cabinet;
  • Wooden English clothing store mannequin;
  • Grain painted Ohio factor counter (porcelain feet);
  • 76 linear feet of 50" high pine paneling (wainscot);
  • Set of four gothic porch piers;
  • 2 highly decorated folk art carnival wheels;
  • Quarter sawn oak RR cabinet;
  • 1940's industrial aviation machinist cabinet;
  • 19th century;
  • 12' blue sled;
  • Two fancy Victorian fretwork gables;
  • 10' long multi drawer apothecary;
  • 9' long custom mahogany counter;
  • 14' long zinc topped potting table with three heavy iron legs;
  • 20+ Victorian corbels, white with finials;
  • Marble plant stand; and
  • 13'+ long oak & chestnut bar/table top.

Police described the vehicle that towed the trailer as a red, Ford Extended Cab style-pick-up with white lettering on the driver's side door that may say "BROX PROPERTY MANAGEMENT." Police said the truck has an 8-foot bed, silver tool box and unknown Connecticut license plates.    

A witness Friday reported seeing the stolen trailer get onto I-84 at Exit 67 in Vernon and head west towards Hartford. Anyone with information is asked to contact Troop C at 860-896-3200.
