CT State Police Busy Over Labor Day Weekend
The Connecticut State Police issued its Labor Day weekend statistics Tuesday.
During this holiday weekend, the Connecticut State Police reported one fatal accident resulting in two deaths in Norwalk on the Merritt Parkway and issued more than 1,000 speeding citations.
State police anticipated heavier than normal weekend traffic for the 2011 Labor Day holiday. The State Police were able to increase the public safety to the highways and secondary roads of our state by using aircraft, unmarked patrol vehicles and additional manpower.
Tuesday morning, Lt. J. Paul Vance said that the traffic was actually a little less than normal, though it was still busy.
