LifeStar transported a man to Hartford Hospital a little after 9 p.m. Thursday after a motorcycle driver struck a deer on the exit 69 onramp for I-84 East, said Public Safety Director and Fire Chief John Littell.

The driver was crawling away from the bike, which was on fire, when first responders arrived, according to Littell. He said that the fire was put out, and LifeStar was called when a witness told emergency personnel that the driver had lost consciousness earlier.
